Once rival to the NES, the 8-bit SEGA Master System now unites with the Wii. Games for the SEGA Master System will be available from the Wii Virtual Console soon. The SEGA Master System games will be appearing in Japan in February 2008. In addition to the Master System games, SEGA Mark III and Game Gear games will also be released within the category. The first games will include Fist of the North Star for 600 Wii points ($6) and Fantasy Zone 500 Wii points ($5).
See a listing of games originally released on the SEGA Master System here. The SEGA Master System definitely had its gems, so if you were too hardcore Nintendo back then, hopefully games like Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord, Phantasy Star, Zillion, Wonder Boy in Monster Land and even King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown will be released on the Wii Virtual Console. I'm definitely ready for more of that virtual nostalgia. The SEGA Master System distribution will be coming to the US and Europe as well, although more details are yet to be announced. From IGN
