Blockbuster announced it was going with Blu-ray disc rentals around the middle of 2007, but it's only recently that some of the chains started to display the Blu-ray movies prominently. In the beginning of '07, HD DVDs and Blu-ray discs were pretty balanced in shelf space in smaller sections of Blockbuster stores. Following Blockbuster's decision to carry a larger selection of Blu-ray movies over HD DVD movies, there's not only a larger shelf space, but Playstation 3 kiosks being used to display blu-ray movies in the stores.

Towards the end of last couple of months of 2007, a Blockbuster Playstation 3 80GB $599 bundle surfaced. The kiosk, pictured below, features a Sony HD TV, Playstation 3 bundle and a selection of blu-ray movies.

Included in the $599 Blockbuster Playstation 3 bundle:
- 80GB Playstation 3
- SIXAXIS Controller
- Motorstorm game
- HDMI cable
- 20 Week Blockbuster game/movie rental card
- Sony PS3 Blu-ray Remote
- Surfs Up Blu-ray movie

The Playstation 3 bundle is available at "select" Blockbuster video rental stores. See more pictures below.

saw one of these at my local blockbuster store too. I thought it wasnt much of a deal, until I saw the 20-week rental card...it's actually a pretty good bargain when you do the math, even though it's still $600.

No one is going to buy that, no one.

They should just drop the price again, it's still way to expensive and being forced to get an old game with a crappy movie is bogus man.

Don't these fools know we're in a recession? and that extra 50 that could have gone to a game goes straight into the tank these days.
