Free Faceplate With Pre-Order Of Universe at War: Earth Assault PDF Print E-mail

It seems like its been a while since a free Xbox 360 Faceplate was thrown in as a pre-order bonus with a new Xbox 360 game. GameStop is offering a free Universe at War Xbox 360 Faceplate with pre-orders of Universe at War: Earth Assault icon online and in stores (check with your local GameStop). The RTS game is coming March 25, 2008 from SEGA, developed by Petroglyph Games.

A brief bit on the developers behind of Universe at War: Petroglyph Games recently worked on the RTS game, Star Wars: Empire at War for PCs. I personally don't have firsthand game play experience with that game. What has me hyped for this Xbox 360 game is that this is coming from the team that worked on Command & Conquer and C&C: Red Alert. Both games that I still highly respect from the Westwood Studios days. Electronic Arts had merged Westwood Studios with EA Pacific, but a few of the original Westwood Studios devs went on to form Petroglyph Games. I'm looking forward to experiencing how Petroglyph handles RTS game mechanics on the Xbox 360.

With Halo Wars coming out later this year, you may want to start sinking into RTS mode from FPS mode with a game like this. The game will support cross-platform play, which means PC vs. Xbox 360 gamers. PC gamers may have the advantage in the beginning, having a few months lead time since the December 2007 release. Check out some screenshots and more info at the official Universe at War: Earth Assault website. Check out the teaser video on Xbox Live as well!
