The Playstation Store in Japan received a couple of demos today, which are accessible to you if you've setup a Japanese PSN account. There's a downloadable demo for Patapon (see picture below). It's not likely that it's going to be available on the US PSN anytime soon. A demo for Patapon will be available from a pre-order offer at GameStop, which should be arriving in the next week or so. See more on that here. There haven't been any PSP demos released via the Playstation 3's PSN in the US yet either. But you never know. Check the Thursday PSN Store update for the US tomorrow.
The other demo is from Capcom's upcoming Playstation 3 release of Lost Planet. It's surprisingly small, at about 251 MB. But it is a multiplayer demo. So you'll only be able to play if you get online. There weren't many people online when I checked and when I did manage to get into a multiplayer session, the connection dropped soon after. It is a release for Japan after all, but you can take a peek at how Lost Planet looks on the Playstation 3 there. Both demos are in Japanese, but you can make your way around to the gameplay (thanks to Patapon's simple button controls and the partial english in the Lost Planet Multiplayer demo). No word if either are coming to the US Playstation Store tomorrow, 2/7/08, but we'll find out soon enough.
