Congratulations to Jesper Kyd! The composer of Assassin's Creed has
nabbed the award for "Best Original Musical Score in a Video Game" at
this year's Elan Awards. The Elan Awards, presently in their second
year, are the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and the Animated
Arts. This year's Elan Awards was hosted by Family Guy creator, Seth
MacFarlane at the Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts on
February 15th of this year.
Jesper Kyd received the acclaimed Elan Award, following a series of nominations for his Assassin's Creed score. The nominations included GameSpot's 2007 Special Achievement Awards for "Best Original Score"; Jesper was also nominated by the Game Audio Network Guild for "Music of the Year," "Best Original Vocal-Choral" (City of Jerusalem) and "Best Original Vocal - Pop" (Jerusalem Horse Ride). The G.A.N.G. awards nominees and winners, such as Jesper, are then decided by the audio and music professionals within the video game industry.
