Stainless Games and Wizards of the Coast have announced "plans to extend the Magic: The Gathering franchise to gamers on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Xbox LIVE Arcade and the PC."
From the announcement: “We’re excited to bring the Magic brand to new platforms and give our fans new ways to experience this great property,” said Jared Gustafson, Brand Director for Magic: The Gathering at Wizards of the Coast. “It’s partnerships like these that will advance the strategy games category and transform it to meet the needs and desires of today’s digital gamers.” There weren't too many details on the game itself or screenshots, but an early 2008 release is expected. Wizards of the Coast is also currently working on Wave 2 cards for Eye of Judgment, on the Playstation 3. No word on whether the XBLA game will get some real card decks to go along with the video game, like Eye of Judgment. Stainless Steel games has quite a bit of Xbox Live Arcade game releases under its belt, including Crystal Quest, Novadrome and several retro classics.
