Konami released a few more details, along with the unfinished box art seen below, for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Earlier this week from the Destination Playstation event, we learned about the 80GB Playstation 3 Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle coming. We knew MGS4 was scheduled for June 2008, but today, Konami confirmed a Thursday, June 12, 2008 release date for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. That's worldwide. Mark your calendars! But wait! Mark April down too.
A pre-sell program will being in April 2008. Pre-ordering MGS4 will nab you a Metal Gear Saga 2.0 DVD, which contains "a Prologue that recaps the Metal Gear franchise, a 20th Anniversary retrospective, character bios for Big Boss, Liquid Snake, Solidus Snake, and Solid Snake, plus a collection of international trailers of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots." MGS fans that picked up Metal Gear 3: Subsistence will recall the Metal Gear Saga 1.0 DVD, which did a similar recap of the series. Even better yet, a download code and information on accessing the Metal Gear Online beta test will be included, scheduled to start on April 21, 2008. Supplies will be limited, so be sure to get your pre-order. Looks like Konami is doing its best to get Playstation 3 gamers (or those who haven't jumped to PS3 yet), into Metal Gear Solid 4.
