Things have been relatively quiet on the upcoming SOCOM Playstation 3 game. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) released a couple of screens yesterday to feed hungry SOCOM fans. SCEA released the SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation screenshots via the Playstation Blog. One of the maps shown is "Crossroads," a 32-player map.
See the two new screenshots below, as well as six previously released screens. You can clearly see things are looking better in the latest two screens. SOCOM Confrontation is being developed by Slant Six Games. The game will feature player customization (face and physical appearance), Clan support, Tournaments, Clan Ladders, 32-player online support and Leader Boards. SOCOM Confrontation will ship with five new North African themed maps. Additional downloads will be made available on the Playstation Store. More on SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation will be revealed in EGM's May 2008 issue. The game was originally scheduled for a November 2007 release. No final release date has been announced.
