Playstation 3 Firmware Update 2.17 Now Available

A minor update for the Playstation 3 System Software (aka firmware) is now available. Perform the update by going to "Settings" and "System Update" on the Playstation 3's XMB (cross media bar). As Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) noted on the Playstation Blog: "the operating stability of some online PS3 titles has been improved." No major additions, just a vague update addressing the online performance of games. Who knows if this has something to do with the upcoming Call of Duty 4 patch for the Playstation 3.
