Capcom Keeps The Old-School Revivals Coming With '1942 Joint Strike' PDF Print E-mail

Capcom (and Backbone Entertainment) seems like it has a good thing going with all these retro-revivals on next-gen consoles. Not settling with just an "enhanced graphics" coating, classic Capcom games are getting the HD3D treatment and multiplayer/online elements, while keeping it old school at the same time. Games like Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Bionic Commando Rearmed and now add 1942 to the list.

1942 is back with the POWs in 1942 Joint Strike. The game will be familiar to old-school shooter fans, but with new features to freshen up the nostalgia.

Capcom describes the features:
- Classic arcade style gameplay with 3D HD graphics!
- New Joint Strike attacks, weapons, and power ups!
- 2 player local or online missions!
- Top Down Vertical Shooter

The 2-player online co-op is a definite plus, something many other XBLA or PSN games overlooked. Watch for 1942 Joint Strike to hit the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) and Playstation 3's PlayStation Network (PSN) for $10 (or 800 Microsoft Points). Coming in Summer 2008.
