Ubisoft Tom Clancy Websites Hint At New 'Tom Clancy Air Combat' Game? PDF Print E-mail

Ubisoft is having some fun with us, spreading debris on its Tom Clancy EndWar, Rainbow Six Vegas and Splinter Cell websites, which link to the Ghost Recon website. An interface on the Ghost Recon site labeled "Data Pull Source MACSAT7" contains five sections for audio/visual data clips, two of which are available at the time of this posting. Each feed is marked with an hourly countdown, with the last one set for April 3, 2008. The first AV feed available shows a mid-air refueling, interrupted by a surface to air attack. The second video shows an air to ground bombardment. Could those be in relation to the 2007 announced "Tom Clancy Air Combat" game, which has been announced for launch on 2008?

From the previous announcement:
"Set in a near future, the game imagines a world where a private military force has cumulated such power that it attacks the USA. Thrust into the cockpits of incredibly powerful and technologically advanced jet fighters, gamers will benefit from hi-tech piloting assistance, providing comfort, security and enhanced perception. As players gain skills and confidence, they will be able to shed the assistance. But before choosing performance over security, they’ll have to weigh the risks carefully."

Definitely sounds like it, more than a possible Ghost Recon game. The 2007 Ubisoft press announcement noted Ubisoft Bucharest (Romania) was working on the game, whose previous experience includes the Blazing Angels flight combat game series.

Let's see what the MACSAT7 file recovery says later this week.
