No worries, COD4 gamers. Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling reassures us that the Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack is on target for release this week, on the Xbox 360. Rumors spread online today that the Variety Map Pack would be delayed until next week.
Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling says: "Despite what the internet might tell you (including some “official” sources), the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare variety map pack has NOT been delayed until the 10th. As of right now we’re pushing certification for an on-time release for April 3rd or 4th. As of right now though, I’m being told that it’s a good chance it will be released worldwide (except for Japan) tomorrow night / early-Friday morning."
To hold you over, here's some screenshots from the Variety Map pack, featuring Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown and Killhouse. The four maps will go for 800 Microsoft Points ($10) from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Variety Map Pack is also available with the newly released Call of Duty 4: Game of the Year Edition UPDATE: Added a trailer video below for the Variety Map Pack from Infinity Ward, showing a fly through of Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown and Killhouse. UPDATE 4/4/08: The Call of Duty 4 Map Pack will be available at 9:30am EST Friday morning (April 4, 2008). There'll be extra experience points (xp) to earn this weekend as well.
