A report from the Los Angeles Times says the PLAYSTATION 3's video service is gearing up for a Summer 2008 debut. The LA Times says movie studio executives have been speaking to Sony over the last few weeks. The article mentions Sony's history on trying to get a digital distribution service launched via other methods with not much luck and the competition from Xbox LIVE's Video Store. There's a hint that more details would be coming soon from Sony on the PlayStation Blog.
From the Los Angeles Times: "Patrick Seybold, a spokesman for the PlayStation unit, declined to comment. However, a PlayStation marketing chief acknowledged the initiative and promised more details soon in a post Tuesday on the Inside PlayStation Network blog." Read the full LA Times article here.
