Looks like the Guitar Hero franchise won't be doing a guitar solo much longer. In the Condé Nast Portfolio May 2008 issue, an interview with Activision CEO Bobby Kotick reveals the Guitar Hero franchise will be gearing up to compete with Rock Band.
From the interview: Kotick: It’s not just about guitars. We’ll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It’s the first game we’ve had in which we can use local content and local bands. That's pretty much the statement that sent waves throughout the 'net and gave confirmation that Activision is definitely looking to go beyond guitars. Read the full interview at Condé Nast Portfolio.
