Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer Patch Released For PLAYSTATION 3 PDF Print E-mail

A multiplayer patch has been released for the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV. The patch addresses multiplayer gameplay, not the freezing issues experienced by some.

From Rockstar Games: "Rockstar Games has released a GTA IV patch for PlayStation 3 today that prevents GameSpy's servers from being overloaded and therefore reduces the impact on those servers that were causing the game to stutter and lock up. We continue to monitor the performance of the game both on and offline and will provide further updates as necessary. We want to assure everyone that, together with our hardware partners, we continue to strive to give our fans the best possible interactive entertainment experiences possible. This update will ensure that everyone will experience Grand Theft Auto IV the way it was intended. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused."

The next time you launch your online connected PLAYSTATION 3, you'll be prompted that the 1.01 patch is available. The download is about 18 MB.

ok this is some straight up bullshit. 
I download the patch, and i may get into games, but the second they start, says I'm disconnected cuz of host connection and im not even the goddamn host, and when i am, same shit.

I have been playing Online single and multi and have had NO issues what so ever. I have no problem finding online games or anything.

I have been playing gta4 on my ps3 since its launch and have yet to have any online issues or freezes. I own an original 60gig ps3 and this game runs perfect and I am using my ps3 wifi for internet connection. most of my friends on my friends list do not have this issue except for one. i wonder if it could be a bad batch of discs maybe?

I downloaded the patch last night and tried getting into 6 online games and kept getting booted.
still no good

played with the patch last night. still very bad online .. keep getting booted off the servers back to 1 player
