Nintendo Sues Nyko Over Wireless Wii Nunchuk PDF Print E-mail

Nintendo isn't too happy with Nyko's cord-free Wii Nunchuk and has filed a lawsuit against the peripheral manufacturer. Nintendo stated that the Kama Nunchuk "wholly appropriates the novel shape, design, overall appearance and even the color and materials used in the Nintendo Nunchuk controller,'' in a federal court complaint.

Nintendo also said the Nyko's "Kama Nunchuk" infringes its trademarks for the Nunchuk name. Guess adding "Kama" in the name wasn't a significant enough change from when Nyko was originally calling it the "Wii Wireless Nunchuk." The Kama Nunchuk was a Best of CES 2008 recipient for it's cordless tech.

Nyko previously offered limited versions of the Kama Nunchuk online, probably to become even more rare if Nintendo kills the Kama.
