| Sony Confirms In-game XMB and Trophies Coming In PS3 Firmware Update 2.40 |

Looks like the much rumored in-game XrossMediaBar (XMB) and trophies will be coming soon to the PLAYSTATION 3. Word comes from the PlayStation Blog that in-game XMB will be coming in Firmware Update 2.40.
From Eric Lempel, Director, PlayStation Network Operations: "We’re also happy to officially report that the 2.40 system software update for PS3 will include “XMB” access in-game. The update will also include “trophies,” an exciting new feature that we’ll be providing more details on soon, as well as some other new enhancements." There's one update scheduled before the 2.40 release. A minor Firmware Update 2.36 will be arriving before 2.40. Soon enough, we'll be able to put the in-game XMB rumors to rest, and to use! UPDATE 6/18/08: System Update 2.36 is now available. 2.40 is next!
