With all the retro revivals Capcom has been working on, there's one that has been sorely missing. Mega Man. The good news is Mega Man will be back. There's been previous word of a Nintendo WiiWare version on the way, as mentioned by Nintendo Power. Now there's word of a simultaneous release on the Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network as well.
The rumor is Mega Man 9 will not be an upgrade 3D revival as Capcom has done for Bionic Commando Rearmed, 1942 or Commando 3, but it'll stay true to the original graphics on the NES. It'll be interesting to see if a new game is made to the old school specs. The game is in development by Ini Creatives. No official announcement or US release information has come from Capcom. UPDATE 7/1/08: Capcom has notified ArsTechnica.com that "the game is currently slated "for WiiWare only" and that the information data indicating otherwise in the E3 roster was a mistake on its part."
