Microsoft has cut the price of the Xbox 360 for Australia and New Zeland. The new price tags put the Xbox 360 Arcade model lower than the cost of Nintendo's Wii system in the regions. Here's how the prices of the Xbox 360 now breaks down for Australia and New Zeland:

Australia:
Xbox 360 Arcade: AU$349 (previously AU$399)
Xbox 360 Pro: AU$499 (previously AU$579)
Xbox 360 Elite: AU$649 (previously AU$729)

New Zeland:
Xbox 360 Arcade: NZ$399
Xbox 360 Pro: NZ$549
Xbox 360 Elite: NZ$699

There's been no word from Microsoft of a North America price cut yet. It's hard to tell exactly what the price cut will be for the US, but it looks like we may be seeing the Xbox 360 price drop surface in those Fourth of July ad circulars. Leaked ads showed a $299 USD price for the Xbox 360 Pro system. See earlier details here.
