Not sure whether it's a good or bad thing if you were able to download PLAYSTATION 3's Firmware 2.4 Update earlier today. Well, if you were one of the PS3 gamers affected by freezing or other bugs, it's definitely not a good thing. Sony Computer Entertainment America's Patrick Seybold confirmed on the PlayStation Blog that Firmware 2.4 has been taken offline. This comes after various reports of probems experienced with the PLAYSTATION 3 after installing the system update.
From tonight's post on the PlayStation Blog: "We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up." I haven't experience any problems following the update. We'll definitely keep you posted as more details emerge or when an update is available. Post your comment below if you've had any issues! From the PlayStation Blog
