With the PS3 nearing launch, the cost of a PS2 will be dropping from $149 USD retail to $129 USD. The official announcement is expected to come May 8th, during Sony's pre-E3 conference. Microsoft may match the price of its original Xbox to counter the move of current-gen pricing.
