Electronic Arts recently announced that the company would be publishing RAGE, Id's upcoming First person shooter. RAGE will be running on Id's newest game engine, IdTech 5. From the Press release: “RAGE represents a new direction for our games,” said Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software. “RAGE is a shooter unlike any other, developed on our cutting edge new technology, and built to the exacting standards id is famous for. We’re excited to have the support of EA Partners to launch RAGE on the world.” “The RAGE publishing deal is the epitome of EA Partners’ mission: Provide the world’s best developers with access to the world’s best publishing resources,” said David DeMartini, senior vice president and general manager of EA Partners. “The team at id Software is one of the best development studios in the world. We’re excited to work with id Software to give RAGE a blockbuster launch on the global stage.” RAGE will be released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC and Mac. The game doesn't have a definite release date as seems to be Id's custom of releasing things right when they finish work on them. More information on RAGE will be revealed at QuakeCon 2008 taking place in Dallas, Texas from July 31 to August 2nd. For more information on QuakeCon 2008, click here.
