Welcome to the Mushroom Men Madness! Red Fly Studio, makers of Rise of
the Fungi (DS) and The Spore Wars (Wii) have tremendous giveaways in-store for
buyers of their titles. Posters, cards, statues-- you name it they got
it. Also a concert available featuring Les Claypool. So you ask
where does one retrieve all these goodies? You'll soon learn the way
to Mushroom Nirvana.
For those who pre-order Rise of the Fungi for the Nintendo DS, you'll receive an official Mushroom Men poster, likewise a pack of 11 cards for pre-purchasing at Gamestop. If you pre-order the Spore Wars for the Nintendo Wii, you will then be blessed with a life-size Mushroom Men statue. Also with the pre-order of Spore Wars, you will receive 11 Mushroom Men cards, combined with the one included in each game. There are a total of 24 collectible Mushroom Men cards. Where's my Les Claypool?! In order to watch Les Claypool and the Mushroom Men perform live on stage, they will be aboard Jam Cruise 7 heading out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 4, 2009. Gamestop will be holding a sweepstakes so gamers can make their way aboard the Jam Cruise. Amongst the slew of Mushroom Men goods, Red Fly Studio also has a Mushroom Men VW Bus (see below) in the works. The Spore Wars will be out for the Wii on 11/11/08 and Rise of the Fungi for the DS will be released on 10/14/08. See more at GameStop.
Gotta Collect 'em All! For all the collectors out there, the fine art team at Red Fly Studio put together some kick-ass trading cards, a poster, and hero statue that will be floating around out there. The poster will be available with Rise of the Fungi (DS) pre-orders and the life-size statue with The Spore Wars (Wii) pre-orders. The first 3 trading cards are in the current issue of Nintendo Power (August issue, along with a contest where 2 families can win a trip to NYC for the 20th Anniversary party at the Nintendo World Store in Sept). You’ll also be able to get them at PAX, the 20th Anniversary Party mentioned above, LesClaypool.com, and more. The easiest way to make a complete set of 24 cards will be by pre-ordering the games at GameStop (get a pack of 11 for Rise of the Fungi and different 11 for The Spore Wars and then 1 card will be included with each version of the game). Mushroom Men Sail the Seas of Cheese… Les Claypool will be headlining and Mushroom Men will be in full effect aboard Jam Cruise 7 (http://jamcruise.com/). Leaving out of Ft Lauderdale January 4, 2009, they’ll be tons of artists playing day and night as the ship ports in Belize City and Costa Maya.
