For all the Resident Evil fans, like myself, clamoring for a movie
that may just be worthy of the RE title, your wait may soon come to
an end. At the San Diego Comic Con, a new trailer for Resident
Evil: Degeneration was revealed. According to Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi (associate producer of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and video game producer of Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4) the new
Resident Evil movie will take place within an unnamed United States
airport. The story continues 7 years after the initial Raccoon City
incidents of previous games, with a disenfranchised Umbrella Corp.
returning to cause mayhem (or are they?).
Resident Evil: Degeneration will be a fully CG-animated feature film, created jointly by Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan. A two minute trailer is currently available, but the full feature is out in Japan this fall. What about us North American fans, you may ask? Well the RE: Degeneration movie will be out on Blu-Ray, DVD and UMD (for PSP) later in 2008. Keep your fingers crossed, and hope this won't be a disaster like all the other RE films. See the latest trailer released below. Visit the official website here.
