id Software revealed a new trailer for RAGE at QuakeCon, the upcoming FPS/shooter hybrid. Tim Willits, the Creative Director at id Software explains the combination of the two genres: "What we wanted to do with the racing aspect of the game is we wanted to integrate that into the action. The game is not a strict racer game and is not a strict first-person game, but what we've done is use the racing elements as story hooks, we've used it to expand on the gameplay, and we've used it to make the game more diverse." RAGE features id Software’s newest game engine, id Tech5. Rage will be published by EA for the Mac, PC, PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. A release date has not been announced.
