Dario Argento, one of the masters of the horror film genre, will be giving his blessing to the sci-fi horror game Dead Space. Doctor Kyne will be voiced by Dario Argento, creator of films such as Suspiria and Opera.
“Dead Space truly captures the essence of fear in an entertainment medium," said Argento. "Not only is it the most terrifying game I’ve ever played, but it’s also one that all fans of horror will appreciate.”
From EA:
"Dario Argento and videogames would normally seem like two very different and seemingly distant worlds in the eyes of many, but when the master of thriller was given the chance to play a character in Dead Space he didn’t think twice about it. The Italian director lent his decennial experience and actively contributed in defining the character. He provided precious and accurate suggestions about the overall tone and style of the voice acting, and didn’t just read the script. Thanks to his advice and attention to detail, the result is simply astounding, far beyond the usual ‘famous-voice-in-a-videogame’ cliché."
Dead Space will be available for the PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 14th. Dead Space has won the"Best Action/Adventure Game" game from E3 2008, beating out Resident Evil 5. I'm definitely pumped up for the release as well, being a big fan of sci-fi and horror movies, as well as videogames! From our various bits of coverage on the game, we can tell this has been a labor of love, or freakish love, from the creators of the game. See more here. Don't miss it!
