Sony PSP Japan goes ALL DIGITAL PDF Print E-mail

News straight out of this year's Tokyo Game Show is that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has opted to digitally release all upcoming PSP games. Sony has been laying the steps for digital innovation on the distribution front. They were the first to release a title simultaneously in stores and digitally with Warhawk. Now dedicating its efforts to the PSP with all digital/in-store releases, the first time for a system.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan will launch its all digital WiFi store on October 15th, and says all future upcoming UMD releases will release simultaneously online. Anticipated titles such as Patapon 2, LocoRoco 2 and Resistance:Retribution will be available online. These games will also be available through Sony's PlayStation Store services on the PC and PlayStation 3.

No word as of yet on whether or not Sony plans on expanding its digital distribution for PSP internationally.
