Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has decided to cancel the release of the PSP 3000 "4GB Memory Entertainment Pack". No, it's not because of the reported screen interlacing issues of the PSP 3000. SCEA is saying it's to slim down the PSP lineup offerings.

From the PlayStation Blog:
"Based on ongoing discussions with our retail partners and the feedback they have received from their customers, SCEA has seen significant interest in the Ratchet & Clank Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack in North America, which includes the updated PSP-3000. As a result, we will be streamlining our PSP hardware lineup and will no longer be offering the previously announced 4GB Memory PSP Entertainment Pack."

The PSP 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack was previously announced, for $199.99, to include following:
- Sony PSP 3000 (Piano Black)
- 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
- Everyday Shooter PLAYSTATION Network voucher

The Piano Black PSP 3000 will be available on its own in December 2008. See our earlier PSP 2000 vs. PSP 3000 comparison images here.
