Following rumors from several sources close to Nintendo, the new Nintendo DSi is rumored for release on April 4th, 2009, with an MSRP of $179.99. With two cameras, bigger screens, and the new DSiWare store on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the DSi should sell well in North America. The DSi sold more than one million units in December 2008 in Japan. Nintendo has not officially confirmed a release date or pricing.

This rumor seems likely, as Nintendo has stated that the DSi will not be appearing until after the first quarter. IGN.com has verified this from three sources, so we are just waiting on an official announcement on Nintendo's end. Sales for the current DS Lite continue to be strong in North America.

The Nintendo DSi was released in Japan in Black and White on November 1, 2008.
