Seems that a Dashboard update put up Friday the 16th of January has had some issues. Microsoft has yet to comment on what is going on. Microsoft had released the update on the 16th and then took it down shortly after for unknown reasons. If you have version 2.0.7363.0 of the Dashboard update and you have been getting an update failed message when trying to download the dashboard update, you may have the same issue. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem there will be a fix until Microsoft releases another update for this.

UPDATE: After contact Microsoft about the issue, it seems the only way to fix the problem is to send the console in for repair. So if you are experiencing this issue, contact Microsoft support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX and schedule a repair.
