Who can deny the itchy gaming finger fix that a game like R-Type can give you? Like a non-stop wave of enemy ships, the Bydo Empire continues its console conquest. I'm an R-Type addict, so I'll likely continue feed into it, but there are new things for R-Type gamers to explore in this Wednesday's Xbox LIVE Arcade release of R-Type Dimensions. Here's what you'll find in the XBLA version of R-Type 1 & 2, bundled with some unique extras:

- Includes R-Type and R-Type II
- Play in original 2-D or all-new 3-D graphics (on-the-fly)
- Multiple game modes: Classic game mode, new Infinite game mode
- Single player and all-new co-op play (both local and over Xbox LIVE)
- Non-orthogonal camera view adds new perspective
- Statistics tracking: Tracks all the player’s vital stats
- Two free gamer pictures to unlock
- Cooperative play, with optional ship collision feature
- New stage unlock functionality and continue from last checkpoint option

R-Type Dimensions will be available from the Xbox LIVE Arcade on Wednesday, 2/4/09.
