Epic Games and Intel have announced the winners of the Phase 2 "$1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal" mod contest. The contest recognizes some of the best Unreal Tournament III mods, which of course uses the Unreal Engine. Winners will be sharing $70,000 in cash and even better, have a great opportunity to break in the game industry as a developer.

“Epic’s mod contest has provided benefits for both mod authors and the game industry alike,” said Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, Inc. “Past winners have gone on to ship commercial games using the Unreal Engine, and several former members of the Unreal mod community have found jobs either with Epic or with companies licensing the Unreal Engine.”

See the listing of winners below with links to the mods. Also below, check out the "sizzle" trailer video from Epic Games, which showcases many of the creative mods. Make sure you check the video out in HD here (for high speed connections).

Watch for the winning mods at the 2009 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco (Intel Lounge). There's still time to enter Phase 3, which does not require entry in the previous phases.
