Several web sites are reporting that the new name for the Nintendo Revolution, The Nintendo "Wii", may not be the real name. Could this be a viral marketing campaign from Nintendo? Nintendo posted the announcement yesterday here. Go Nintendo and Kotaku are pointing out the possibility that "Wii" is not the final name. Game Informer Online also did an interview with Nintendo of America's Public Relations Manager Matt Atwood on how "Wii" came about. We'll believe it when we see it branded on the Nintendo console itself at E3!
