Pretty soon, you'll be able to take your friends outside for some real-time multiplayer gameplay using your iPhone. A unique game called Seek 'n Spell tests your agility on how fast you can run to pick up the letters and your mental ability to build words using them. All this is done outdoors using the iPhone's GPS feature to track where letters appear. Game developers The Retronyms describe it best as "a real-time GPS-based word building competition".

The Retronyms describe how Seek 'n Spell works:
"To play Seek 'n Spell, grab some friends and head outside to the nearest park or other large open space. Start up the game, and your phone will display a map of your location and letters all around your playing field. Run around to collect the letters, and when your location matches the letter location, you pick up the tile. You can have 10 letters at a time, and the object of the game is to build as many words as you can. The more letters in your words, the more points you get, and the player with the most points at the end of the game wins."

It's definitely a unique blend of technology and real-time gameplay. Onlookers will surely wonder what you and your friends are chasing after. Seek 'n Spell is currently getting ready for release on Apple's App Store, which should be available in a few weeks. See more details at seeknspell.com.
