New Wii Expand line brings Smash Bros. Brawl X Violence game [see video] [April 1] PDF Print E-mail

The Wii is looking to shove itself out of a corner of child's play and into the blood thirsty hands of hardcore games. According to an article on IGN, Nintendo will be introducing Wii Expand, which "enables players to download game expansions, modifications and updates."

From IGN:
"Much more surprising is the demo the publisher showcased presumably as a proof of concept for the service: an ultra-violent update to its hit Wii fighter, now appropriately dubbed Super Smash Bros. Brawl X: Extreme. The moniker seems to be a play on the game's original Japanese name of Dairantou Smash Bros. X -- now, though, the 'X' is stained with blood. Insiders explained that via a content download through the Expand service, Wii owners would be able to save the expansion to SD card and could then choose to play the so-called 'Extreme' version of the game upon next booting Brawl."

The video trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl X: Extreme contains disturbing shaky-cam footage, especially towards the end, so it's behind the age gate below.

posted on April Fools day? Nintendo going Adult? B.S. Don't believe a word of it. Only IGN and sites quoting IGN have anything about it anyway. This would be apocalyptically viral if it were real.
Of Course its fake

Seriously!! Nintendo should go adult so that there are more actually good Rated M games for the Wii and DS. (They should keep the Mario series, Warioware etc. the same, just keep the good games, except Brawl. Brawl with violence, Fatalities, blood and gore is awesome yet scary at the same time.) I'm going to have nightmares tonight, aren't I? :?
