Why Dead Space Extraction will look great on the Wii [first gameplay video] PDF Print E-mail

Why did the Dead Space Extraction game developers go with creating a "Guided First Person Experience" on the Wii, rather than a free-roaming first-person shooter? To "maximize the visual fidelity you see on screen," according to the game's Executive Producer, Steve Papoutsis.

You can see from some of the first Dead Space Extraction gameplay clips below (or in HD here), it's pulling off some amazing graphics on the Wii. See the video below from IGN with Executive Producer, Steve Papoutsis.

Steve recaps some of the unique gameplay found in Dead Space Extraction (we took note of it before here). Things like "zero-g, branching paths, camera control". Drop-in/drop-out 2-player gameplay is supported as well.

We know the free FPS gameplay was compromised for graphics and other Wii motion mechanics. So it's a little give and take on the Wii for Dead Space Extraction. After seeing the video, I'd take it!

Watch for Dead Space Extraction on the Wii in fall 2009.
