Confirmed: Wii SD Card Menu = more sales for Strong Bad PDF Print E-mail

Telltale today announced that since Nintendo introduced the SD Card game storage solution for the Wii, sales have more than doubled for Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. The Wii's internal storage space was very limiting for downloadable Virtual Console games, but especially for WiiWare games. WiiWare games tend to be larger in file size. Downloaded games from the Wii Shop could be backed up on SD cards, but games could not be played from SD cards. With the update Nintendo released at the end of March 2009, the gates were opened for playing games from SD cards, breaking gamers free from the limited Wii storage capacity.

"Nintendo's new solution really opens the door for players to add to their collection of downloadable games, which is critical for a series with multiple installments," says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. "This is a major step forward for episodic gaming. We're looking forward to even greater success on WiiWare with Strong Bad, as well as other projects."

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is an episodic WiiWare game that launched in August 2008. Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is available from the Wii Shop Channel for 1,000 points an episode ($10). See telltalegames.com for more on the game.

Have you downloaded more games since Nintendo enabled SD card gameplay and launched the SD Card Menu?
