Here's a unique way to set Mass Effect fans up for the next Mass Effect 2 game. It was previously mentioned from the game's developers, BioWare, that they would be releasing additional storyline material before Mass Effect 2 fans get the full Xbox 360/PC game in 2010. More than a novel prequel or comic series, gamers may be getting an iPhone/iPod touch release of a Mass Effect game.

There's an EA survey going around to gauge interest in the possibility of a "Mass Effect: Jacob's Story" game. The game would give a back story to Mass Effect 2 via a character in the Mass Effect universe. It's said to be composed of a cel-shaded graphic style (the first screens look very similar to the color palette and style of BioWare's Nintendo DS cel-shaded RPG game, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood). Gameplay would take place using a top-down perspective and animated graphic cutscenes will be used. It may be available for just $2.99.

It's definitely a unique application to an upcoming RPG (Dead Space 2, you may need to do the same), almost similar to what EA did with Spore Origins. Would you be interested in playing a Mass Effect iPhone/iPod Touch game? Let us know what you think about the possibility.
