The game developers that gave birth to Dead Space at EA Redwood Shores Studio get a little more punch to their name and identity. The studio formerly known as "EA Redwood Shores Studio" will now be known as Visceral Games. Electronic Arts announced Visceral Games, which EA stated will "better reflect the studio’s culture, identity and focus on creating intense action-oriented intellectual properties."

Visceral Games is currently working on the upcoming Wii release of Dead Space: Extraction and Xbox 360/PS3/PSP release of Dante’s Inferno. The press release also noted there are 2 other unannounced games in the works, which we'll hopefully be hearing about at E3.

“Action, intensity, excellence. It isn’t just in our DNA, it’s in our blood,” said Glen Schofield, VP and GM of Visceral Games. “For the past two years, we have adopted a new culture that prizes excellence above all else. Primal action is the beating heart of the studio and now our new name reflects that."

Visit the official website for Visceral Games at www.visceralgames.com. We'll definitely be looking for games with the Visceral Games label.
