What happens when you take a current generation game, strip it down to it's very core, design it for portable play and throw it back 20-some years in time? Squibs Arcade is a game compilation that asks that and plays a parody on some of the most popular games of today. You'll easily identify games like Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, and more. Don't expect deep gameplay. Most of it involves pressing a directional button to retrieve, or avoid, something. There's also two modes of difficulty in some of the games and a highscore counter. That's how it was back in the day. Game developer Alten8 Limited previously announced that Squibs Arcade was headed to WiiWare. Today, Squibs Arcade is available for the iPhone and iPod touch. You can get it at the introductory price of 0.99 cents. The download is 9.2 MB. Get Squibs Arcade here (iTunes link), or via the App Store on your iPhone or iPod touch.
