Trophies on the PlayStation Portable sounds like a great idea right? Wrong. Not for Sony at least. You can blame the constant PSP hacks, or that Sony still hasn't wrapped up a secure enough system to implement Trophies on the portable.

Joystiq.com asked Eric Lempel, Director of PlayStation Network Operations, on the possibility of Trophies on the PSP, to which Eric Lempel responded "You're not going to see Trophies on the PSP." Lempel continued: "if people can artificially inflate their rankings and amounts of Trophies [then it] kills the whole [Trophy] system."

Hopefully Sony will someday be able to wrap some security on Trophies and be able to claim a handheld first for that. For now, no Trophies.
