Wii Sports Resort is now available for the Wii. It's the first game from Nintendo to use the new Wii MotionPlus accessory, which allows greater control and accuracy of the Wii Remote. Wii Sports Resort has already been a top-seller in Japan and will likely be a hit for Wii gamers here in the US.

About Wii Sports Resort, from Nintendo:
"The 12 sports (archery, basketball, bowling, golf, table tennis, Swordplay, Air Sports, canoeing, cycling, Frisbee®, Power Cruising and wakeboarding) allow players to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk™ controllers in different ways, and while some sports require both controllers, others can be played using only the Wii Remote. In archery, players hold the Wii Remote vertically like a bow while drawing back the Nunchuk. In Frisbee, players motion with the Wii Remote as though they were tossing a real Frisbee. And while playing wakeboarding, players hold the Wii Remote sideways as though they were hanging onto the end of a tether behind a speedboat."

Last week, Nintendo held a launch event at Times Square for Wii Sports Resort, where they featured a resort oasis with sand and demo kiosks of the game. Nintendo isn't stopping there. They'll be taking Wii Sports Resort around various cities in the country. Below is a list of destinations for the first 3 weeks of the tour. Check it out and see if it's coming to your area. An up-to-date tour schedule will be posted at www.WiiSportsResort.com.

Wasn't Tiger Woods 10 the first game to use the Wii MotionPlus accessory?
Wii Sports Resort is first from Nintendo

Yeah, Tiger Woods 10 included Wii MotionPlus first, but that is from EA Sports, not Nintendo. This is the first game from Nintendo on the Wii to use the Wii MotionPlus.
