Recently at the gamescom Convention in Cologne, BioWare revealed new plot details in the sequel to the successful Mass Effect. In Mass Effect 2, players reprise their role as Commander Shepard, and in this game his crew selection is vital to story's path and the squad's survival chances. A newly revealed character by the name of "Grunt," who is a blood hungry Krogan, is one of the many motley cast of characters included. Grunt is a violent and unpredictable fighter, who may be a strong asset to Shepard's squad, if he can be tamed and/or trusted. This is the second character revealed for the sequel, the first being "Thane," a deadly assassin who was shown in June. More of Shepard's crew details will be released in the coming months.

Once players have assembled their squad from amongst the galaxy’s most powerful mystics, geniuses, and convicts, they must lead them on a suicide mission to discover why humans are vanishing from the galaxy. The success of the mission hinges on the squad recruited and their loyalty to the mission. Shepard’s future depends on it.

"Building out a diverse and loyal party is one of the features that makes the Mass Effect series quite unique." said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Group General Manager and Senior Vice President, Electronic Arts, and co-founder and CEO, BioWare.

This choice of characters and morality is one thing BioWare presents extremely well in their titles, of course the Mass Effect series has taken this to another level. The Mass Effect Trilogy is a masterful science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life and mysterious uncharted planets.

Mass Effect 2 is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PC in early 2010. Follow updated on Mass Effect 2 on Twitter at: http://twitter.com/masseffect2.
