The creator that helped spawn FPS games such as Wolfenstein, Quake and Doom believes that mobile cell phone gaming is the gateway to game development and new IPs. Carmack's first cell phone adventure game of "Doom" proved successful. Carmack recently released "Orcs and Elves," id Software's newest unique game on ea-mobile.com. From CNN Money's interview with Carmack: "It sucks to risk $20 million on a new title these days," he said. "The industry sees maybe one truly new game per year. And we're as guilty of this at id (Software) as anyone. I mean, we have 'Doom 3,' 'Quake 4,' 'Wolfenstein'. It's not a bad thing. The industry likes that reliability and the consumer knows what they like." Visit the official Orcs and Elves web site here. Read CNN's interview with Carmack here.
