Doritos and Microsoft have teamed up once again, offering a great opportunity to budding game designers and video game fans. The "Unlock Xbox" game design contest has officially started today. Think you have a great game concept for an Xbox LIVE Arcade game that puts some Doritos in the mix? Get your gaming ideas going for the October 4, 2009 deadline! Your idea may make its way through some seasoned gaming developers, including Kudo Tsunoda, and gamers themselves, leading you to a 2010 Xbox LIVE Arcade game release and a $50,000 gaming consultant deal with Doritos. In this year's "Unlock Xbox" contest, there will be two games developed into Xbox LIVE Arcade releases. Here are some of the details: Microsoft and Doritos ran the "Unlock Xbox" contest in 2007, which ultimately brought one game concept to life, Doritos Dash of Destruction. NinjaBee helped develop the winning Doritos Dash of Destruction (available as a free download here), which was released at the end of 2008. Doritos Dash of Destruction had gamers dashing for the download, as it became the "fastest Xbox LIVE Arcade game to reach one million downloads." If you haven't played it yet, download it now from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace to get inspired. You can also visit unlockxbox.com from November 29, 2009 to December 31, 2009, to vote on game design finalists and have a chance to win some prizes. Visit the official website at unlockxbox.com for more information, and lookout for a gallery of game ideas that have been submitted. Good luck!
