Buckshot Pump-Action Shotgun Wii peripheral screams takes no prisoners PDF Print E-mail

The Buckshot Pump-Action Shotgun holds it's own unique place in a Wii gun peripheral market cluttered with white plastic clones. Lock and load your Wii Remote inside this candy-color red package of kick-ass for a Wii shooting experience unlike any other.

The compartment door at the front of the Buckshot swings open to easily load your Wii Remote inside. A locking mechanism on the side of the Buckshot locks it in securely, as well as interfaces it with the controls on the back. The controls on the back of the Buckshot function as an integrated Nunchuk controller. It has a thumbstick, Z button and C button. The trigger on the Buckshot controls the B button (fire) and the pump-action controls the A button (reload) of the Wii Remote. Various games may allow you to reconfigure the controls.

The Buckshot is designed for both right and left handed gamers. You'll need to use both hands to use this Wii gun peripheral. It has a great weight and solid feel. The black rubber material secures your grip at the pump-slide part and gun handle. Rounding out the Buckshot is a nice coat of metallic glossy red.

So how does it perform? I gave The Buckshot a test run on the following Wii shooting games: Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, The Conduit, Wii Play (Shooting Range) and House of the Dead: Overkill. Games that used the Nunchuk (back controls of Buckshot) tended to be a bit trickier or too difficult to play because of some required Nunchuck shaking, but on-rails games worked great. House of the Dead: Overkill was the stand-out game that was a joy to play with the Buckshot. If you have House of the Dead: Overkill, you need the Buckshot at your side. Younger gamers may get fatigued from the tight pumping-action and weight, but this is a treat for older gamers.

Komodo's Buckshot Pump-Action Shotgun is just what you'd want at your side to fight off armies of undead. Watch for the Buckshot at gaming retailers for a $34.99 MSRP. Chew bubblegum and kick ass with The Buckshot!
