Retailer ad leaks are once again pointing to a game system price drop, this time for Nintendo's Wii system. The Wii is rumored to be getting a price drop in early October 2009. One of the first hints that appeared was a Walmart "rollback" ad tip to Kotaku that didn't mention a price but did estimate an early October price drop of the Wii. Now a leaked Toys R Us ad circular lists the Wii system for $199.99 (model 801912). Nintendo's Wii system has lived a long life on the market at $249.99 while other game consoles have been dropping, even recently in the last couple of weeks. Other current generation systems are very close to the price of the current $249.99 Wii. The PlayStation 3 120 GB (aka Slim) puts the entry price at $299.99 and the Xbox 360 Elite also recently dropped to $299.99 (Arcade system at $199). Nintendo hasn't confirmed or officially announced anything yet, but it's likely you can expect an announcement toward the end of September or early October of the $199.99 Wii.
