There is a new Wii Menu System Update available for download. Wii system 4.1 gets a slight bump up to Wii Menu Update 4.2. Don't expect to see any changes, unless you are running something that Nintendo doesn't want you to. If your Wii system uses Wii Connect 24 (is always online via WiFi), you should have received an email from Nintendo in your Wii inbox. An "Update" button in the letter allows you to download system update 4.2. You can also download the System Update by going to your Wii System Settings and selecting the System Update option.

Here are the details of what System Update 4.2 addresses, from Nintendo:
"This update provides behind-the-scenes fixes that will not affect features but will improve the overall system performance. Because unauthorized modifications to save data or program files may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.2 will also check for and automatically remove such save data or program files."
