Today's the launch day of Borderlands, from game developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games. Get ready to play a first-person shooter and role-playing game, all in one. As a matter of fact, 2K Games is calling it a "role-playing shooter (RPS)." In Borderlands, you'll explore the wasteland of Planet Pandora. Solo or with some friends, it's your choice. There's going to be plenty of missions, loot and stat building. “The Borderlands team at Gearbox has brought together the things we know we love – co-op, skill-based action, character development and millions of guns – in a way we haven’t seen before,” said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software. “Borderlands is a great shooter that we can play alone or with friends. I think it’s the best video game we’ve ever made and I have never been more excited about a launch.” Borderlands will keep you busy in the months ahead. A "bazillion" guns are there to be discovered, says 2K Games. Expect future downloadable expansions, starting with the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, available later this year. See the launch trailer for Borderlands here. Borderlands is now available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America and will be available internationally starting October 23rd. Watch for Borderlands to arrive on the PC on October 26th (October 30th internationally). Visit the official website of Borderlands here for more!
