PlayStation 3 owners will soon be able to enjoy Netflix instant streaming movies, as Xbox 360 owners currently do. Sony Computer Entertainment America and Netflix have announced that starting in November 2009, PlayStation 3 owners can get movies instantly via the internet on their PS3 system. If you are a current Netflix member, there won't be an extra charge to use the service on your PS3.

From the announcement:
"Initially, watching movies instantly streamed from Netflix via the PS3 system will be enabled by a free, instant streaming Blu-ray disc that is being made available to all Netflix members. The free instant streaming disc leverages Blu-ray's BD-Live(TM) technology to access the Internet and activate the Netflix user interface on the PS3 system, which must be online via Wi-Fi or Ethernet."

You can request the free Netflix Blu-ray disc today, here from Netflix.com. The added advantage that the PlayStation 3 Netflix has over the Xbox 360's Netflix is that you can use the PS3's internet browser to access the Netflix website. For those of you new to Netflix, monthly plans start at $8.99 a month, which includes the Netflix Instant Streaming service and one DVD out a time as well. Watch for it this November!

its about time they have done this... but another thing... as they do the playstation network rewards cards that you can buy at walmart so that you dont have to have a debit or credit card they should do the same thing with the netflix as not everyone has a credit or debit card.. it would be very easy and helpful.
